Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy covers jheathcpa.com, the website of J. Heath & Co., LLC, 708 Rosa Ave, Metairie, LA 70005. It describes information collected through this website only. Information you provide to us as a client during an engagement (tax documents, financial records and the like) is governed by your engagement letter and by the confidentiality rules that apply to Certified Public Accountants, not by this page.

Information you give us

The only information this website asks you for is what you type into a contact form. Depending on which form you use, that is:

• First and last name
• Email address
• Phone number
• The type of work you are asking about
• Whatever you write in the message or inquiry field

All of those fields are optional in the sense that you can choose not to use the form; if you submit one, the fields marked required must be completed for it to send. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, dates of birth, account numbers or any other sensitive information through this website, and you should not put that information into a website contact form. Call us at 504-832-1873 instead.

What happens to a form submission

A submitted form is posted to this site's own server endpoint, which applies two basic anti-spam checks (a hidden honeypot field and a check that the name looks like a real name) and then forwards the submission to the firm's workflow-automation service, which delivers it to the staff who handle new inquiries. The submission is transmitted over HTTPS. It is used to answer your inquiry and to follow up with you about the services you asked about. It is not added to any marketing list without your say-so.

Information collected automatically

Google Analytics

When it is enabled, this site loads Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages people use. Google Analytics 4 records a randomly generated identifier, the pages you view, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, and basic device and browser information. GA4 does not store full IP addresses. We also record two events: a generate_lead event when a contact form is submitted successfully, and a phone_call event when someone clicks a phone-number link on the site. Neither event carries your name, email address or message.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's browser add-on.

Apollo.io visitor tracking

This site loads a visitor-identification script from Apollo.io. It is a business-to-business tool: it attempts to identify the company a visitor is browsing from, typically by looking up the network the request came from, and reports that to us alongside the pages viewed. We use it to understand what kinds of businesses are reading the site. Apollo.io is an independent company and processes this data under its own privacy policy. Blocking third-party scripts in your browser, or using a tracker-blocking extension, prevents it from running.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes the technical details of each request (IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, user agent) in order to serve the page and to protect the site from abuse.

What this site does not do

• It does not run advertising or retargeting pixels.
• It does not set marketing cookies of its own.
• It includes a performance-measurement script, but that script only writes timings to your own browser's developer console; it does not send anything anywhere.

Staff and admin login

The /admin area of this site is the content-management tool used by our staff to publish blog posts. It is protected by Netlify Identity, which stores the account email address and authentication tokens needed to sign a staff member in. It is not accessible to clients or the public and collects nothing from ordinary visitors.

Links to other sites

This site links out to our client portal (TaxDome), our LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram pages, embedded videos, an embedded Google map of our office, and a third-party widget that displays our LinkedIn posts. Once you follow one of those links, or when an embedded widget loads, that provider's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. The only parties that receive information from this website are the service providers described above, each acting on our behalf to run the site, deliver form submissions, or measure traffic. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Retention

Contact-form submissions are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them to respond to and follow up on your inquiry, and then in our ordinary business records. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in Google Analytics. If you would like us to delete an inquiry you sent, ask and we will.

Your choices

• Do not submit a contact form; call or email us instead.
• Use Google's opt-out add-on, or a tracker blocker, to stop the analytics and visitor-tracking scripts.
• Ask us to delete an inquiry you have sent.

Children

This website is aimed at businesses and adult individuals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
